Temporary Full Time Associate DVM - Coverage Through End of Year

Position Details: We are seeking a Temporary Full Time Associate DVM to provide coverage for a veterinarian currently on leave. This position runs through the end of 2025, with the possibility of continued employment to be evaluated based on the clinic's needs at that time.

Parktown Veterinary Clinic is located in Milpitas, a vibrant city in the Silicon Valley just 15 minutes from San Jose and 10 minutes from The Bay! Our full-service veterinary facility provides comprehensive care including emergency services, specialty treatments, and wellness care. We are well-equipped with modern dental equipment, fully-equipped surgery suites, adjunctive therapy options, cold laser therapy, and comprehensive wellness and prevention services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform animal examinations to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries
• Treat sick or injured animals by providing appropriate care
• Perform and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Administer anesthetics, perform surgeries, monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the assistance of the technical team
• Follow and create discharge & treatment plan guidelines for patients
• Communicate updates with clients via phone, email, and/or chat service
• Educate pet owners about animal care, prevention, and disease
• Humanely euthanize animals when it has been mutually agreed upon by the patient's owner
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid California veterinary license
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine
• Have professional mannerism and show sensitivity with patients, clients, and staff
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to owners and staff
